The not very known Region of Murcia has the privilege of being one the areas with most sunny days per year in Spain.
While it gets cold in winter mornings and days, temperature raise a lot during the day if it is sunny, making it a perfect destination if you want to enjoy a bit of history and great food at very interesting prices.

Staying in the city centre will cost you around 50€ in a nice hotel and you will get to walk around the historical city centre, cathedral and so on.
Rent a car if you want to explore the region further: You have the very unique Manga del Mar Menor in the coast, the roman city of Cartagena and some pretty epic countryside areas like Moratalla.
4. More of the warmest places to visit in Spain in January
The Canary Islands. The warmest place in the winter as their location near the ecuador make them all winter free. While we have only mentioned Lanzarote you will find beautiful temperatures in all of them. Please note it only gets cold in the Canaries if you head up to the mountains.
The Andalusia coast. In the southern coast of Spain you will have similar winter than described in Murcia. Beautiful sun and lovely temperatures during the day that will let you walk around the sun with your coat off but colder temperatures in the evening and morning.
Ceuta and Melilla. Their unique location in the north of Africa makes them enjoy beautiful temperatures in winter. Temperatures rarely drop below 14 °C.
