1. Things to do in the Ricote Valley in Murcia: The route of the waterwheels in Abaran
Dating from the time where arabs populated the breathy where used to elevate the water to the higher grounds in order to water.
There are five wheels, some of them still working today.The hike goes though crops making it a very relaxing experience.
2. Things to do in the RIcote Valley in Murcia: The blossoming in Cieza
The most spectacular event happening in the area. The blossoming of the almond and peach trees happens at the beginning of Spring. The whole valley turns pink and there are lots of activities and parties to celebrate.
You will also find some UNESCO heritage caves around and paintings dating from the Neolithic.
3. Archena and their thermal waters
A must in the area. The spa is believed to be the oldest in Spain, it was built in the XIX century but the surrounding waters where even used in roman times.
The Spa is also an hotel and it is equipped with the most modern facilities. It is a treat to spend a day in their facilities.
4. Things to do in the Ricote Valley in Murcia: Rafting in the Segura river
Get equipped and get an adrenaline high while you enjoy some of the most beautiful sceneries of the Ricote Valley.
Sail through this lovely protected area making some stops to discover historical landmarks and prehistoric paintings.
We did this activity with the whole extended family and everyone from kids to adults had a lovely a fun morning.
5. A stroll around Blanca and its panoramically view
The village of Blanca makes a lovely spot for a stroll around. You will find the remains of a castle, churches and an artsy tour called Via del Arte, a route around with grafittis, photographs and art in general.
Head to Mirador del Alto de Bayna for one of the best views in the Ricote Valley. You will see Blanca, the river Segura and the Ojós reservoir.
