Cooking a tortilla in the oven is as big as a sin can get in Spain as tortilla will be terribly overcooked.
To make a proper tortilla de patata you first fry the potatoes and onion, reserve them, and then mix them with the eggs and cook it in the pan. Depending on personal taste, while cooking it you will leave the inside a bit runny for extra moist.

All day long! If you have it at home it is likely to be a part of a lunch or dinner but if you head out it is a very common breakfast or bocadillo in the bar.

If you go to a Spanish bar very likely you will see a tortilla de patatas on display in the counter. A very common way to have it is asking for a “Pincho de tortilla”.
You will be given a slice in the same way than a serving of cake and it will come with bread. Spanish people have it as a breakfast or snack before lunch.
The most classic way: A bocadillo
Nothing is more Spanish than a baguette filled with potato omelet. Spaniards called it “Bocadillo” and it can be a breakfast, a quick lunch picnic style or a dinner if you fancy it.
A tortilla is a great tapa so share for the table for the table and you will find tortillas in many restaurants as a starter.
